Obituary
Mr. Charles Reed, 72, of Mahanoy City passed away Wednesday, May 4th, 2011 at Schuylkill Medical Center East Norwegian, Pottsville, PA.
Mr. Reed was born in Mahanoy City, PA on June 23, 1938, the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Green) Reed.
He was of the protestant faith
He served in the U.S. Army National Guard as a Staff Sergeant.
Charles retired from the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, had worked for the Department of Military affairs where he served as a Fort Indiantown Gap Police Officer, Prior to that he worked for General Electric in Allentown.
He belonged to the Association of United States Army Tobyhanna Army Depot Chapter, the Mahanoy City American Legion Post 74 and the National Rifle Association.
Graduated from Mahanoy City High School class of 1956.
He was the husband of Evelyn (Narbutitis) Reed.
Survived by daughter Kimberly Reed of Mahanoy City sons Gary of Shenandoah Heights., Brian, and Timothy of Mahanoy City, sisters Joanne Moore of Hummelstown, and Diane Menna of Sickerville NJ and brother Earl Mayeresky.
Survived also by 2 grandchildren Christopher and Brandon Reed.
Preceded in death by a brother John Mayeresky.
A private interment will be in the German Protestant Cemetery Mahanoy City, PA.
