Catherine Peters, 84, of 336 W. Spruce St., Mahanoy City, died Sunday evening at home.
Born in Mahanoy City, April 27, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Vincent and Mary Bush Honushefsky. She lived in Mahanoy City her entire life.
She was retired, last working for City Shirt, formerly of Mahanoy City.
She was a member of Assumption BVM Roman Catholic Church, Mahanoy City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, on May 8, 1979; brothers, Stephen and Joseph Honushefsky, and Paul D. and William Honus; sisters, Betty Forster and Veronica Poreca.
Surviving are a son, Thomas Peters, Mahanoy City; daughters, Kathleen Peters, Mahanoy City, and Nancy Saldukas, Hazleton; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home Inc., Mahanoy City. Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at Assumption BVM Church. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Mahanoy City, where a white dove will be released at the grave side in her memory.
