Carl D. Ziegmont, 68, of 124 Roosevelt Drive, Morea, Mahanoy City, died Wednesday evening after arrival at Saint Catherine Medical Center Fountain Springs.

Born in Gilberton, May 14, 1940, he was a son of the late William and Helen Leskie Ziegmont.

He lived in Gilberton and Mahanoy City his whole life and was a 1957 graduate of Gilberton High School.

He was the proprietor of Crown Bingo.

He served in the Army during peacetime.

He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Frackville, and a life member of both the Frackville Elks and Cressona Hose Company.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Charles Ziegmont.

Surviving are his wife, Genevieve Thornton Ziegmont; sons, Carl J. Ziegmont and his wife, Stephanie, Gordon, Eric D. Ziegmont, Morea, Mahanoy City, and Curtis M. Ziegmont and his wife, Jennifer, Frackville; a daughter, Jennifer Steiff and her husband, Robert, Fountain Springs; a brother, Joseph Ziegmont, Gilberton; sisters, Leona Joseph, Frackville, Helen Tulenko, York, Mary Theresa Mucha, Towson, Md., and Natalie Gaburick, Timonium, Md.; grandchildren, Justin and Nicholas Ziegmont and Ryan and Kyle Steiff; nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home, Mahanoy City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Church, Frackville. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Englewood, Frackville, where a white dove will be released at the grave site in his memory . Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home, Mahanoy City.
