Bernice O. Matruder Boyer, 81 of Tremont, formerly of New Boston passed away Thursday surrounded by her loving family at Schuylkill Medical Center East Norwegian Pottsville February 23, 2012.


Born December 26, 1930 to the late Charles and Henrietta (Kehler) O'Neil Fountain Springs.


Bernice had graduated from Butler Township High School.


She last worked as a certified Nursing Assistant and had previously operated her own Hair Dresser Shop


She was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Mahanoy City.


Bernice belonged to the VFW Pine Grove, and also the Fountain Springs Fire Company.


Our mom Lived to Love her Children, Grand Children and Great- Grand Children and her dog Petunia (Tunie).


She was preceded in death by her first husband William J. Matruder in 1979.


She is survived by her second husband Leroy A. Boyer of 9 years. Daughters Marie M. Costa, wife of John, New Boston, Patricia M Bachman, wife of Edgar A., New Boston. 3 Grandsons William J. Bachman and his fiancé Beth Barclay, New Boston, Edgar A. Bachman and his fiancé Deanna Boris, Barnesville, and Dennis J. Bachman, New Boston. Also by Great Grand Children Ryan Long, William J. Bachman, Megan Shae Bachman, and Shelby Elizabeth Bachman. And sisters Arleen Kimmel Wife of Leonard, Fountain Springs, Bonnie Rickard, wife of George, Fredericksburg, and Joe-Anne Meade Wife of the late Thomas, Fountain Springs. Nieces, Nephews and cousins.


A viewing will be 9am at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish Mahanoy City Monday February 27, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am Officiated by Father Kevin Gallagher. Burial will be in St Joseph's Cemetery Fountain Springs.


Family prefers donations be made to the Hill Side SPCA.
