Bernard "Bernie" Hasara, 76 of Mahanoy City passed away March 6, 2024 at St. Lukes Miners, Coaldale.

Bernie was born December 27, 1947. He was a 1965 graduate of Mahanoy Area high School. One week after graduating Bernie enlisted in the US Air Force. He served three and a half years including a voluntary 1 year tour of Vietnam from December 1966 to December 1967 where he was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal.

Bernie worked in a home remodeling business and a rock drilling and blasting business. He was a member of the American Legion and very much enjoyed shooting darts in the league. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sports games.

He was preceded in death by his wife Linda (Weber) in 2012 and his youngest son Colin in 2018, and a sister Debbie.

He is survived by his companion Julie Butchko, his 4 sons Sean and his wife Nancy, Beech Mountain, Christopher and his wife Jessica , Montgomery Village MD, Brendon, Mahanoy City, Ryan, Mahanoy City, and his daughter in law Melissa Patrick Park Place.

Also survived by 7 Grandchildren Nathaniel, Corey, Kianna, Justin, Tiffany, Colin Jr., and Carley

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Richards Church in Barnesville Tuesday March 12, 2024, at 11AM.
