Barbara Davies, 76, of Shenandoah died Saturday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.

Born in and a lifelong resident of Mahanoy City. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Blanche Pfluger Shimko.

She attended Mahanoy City schools. She retired from City Shirt, formerly of Mahanoy City.

Barbara was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mahanoy City and was a member of the American Legion Post 398, Frackville, Ladies Auxiliary.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Abraham Davies, son Kenneth, and granddaughter Jennifer Wronski.

Surviving are sons Abraham Jr., Mahanoy City, Charles, Mahanoy City, and Leonard of Hummelstown, and daughters Barbara Zelonis, Mahanoy City, Debra Hillman, Virginia Beach Virginia, Bonnie Sanders, York, PA, and Brenda Fritz, Shenandoah.

Surviving are brothers Thomas Shimko of Ronks, PA and Albert Jr., Mahanoy City, and sisters Mary Ann Hancock, Philadelphia, Shirley Wright, Gap, PA, and Sandra Miller, Landsford. There are sixteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, also nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be Friday 11 a.m. at the Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. Mahanoy City, pastor Christopher Wollyung officiating. Interment will be in Skyview Memorial Park Hometown where a white dove will be released in her memory. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m and Friday from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral.
