Anna E. Peel, 97, formerly of 601 W. Maple St., Mahanoy City, died Thursday morning at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.
Born in New Philadelphia, July 10, 1912, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Petri Kazacavage Pouzus. She was educated in Frackville schools.
She lived in Frackville for many years and in Mahanoy City since 1966. She worked in the garment industry in Frackville, having last worked for City Shirt Factory, formerly of Mahanoy City.
Anna was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church, Mahanoy City, and Amalgamated Textile Workers Union.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William, in 1954; and brothers, Albert, Tony, John, Joseph and Charles Pouzus.
Surviving are sons, William Peel, Payson, Ariz., and Albert Peel, Holly, Mich.; daughters, Priscilla Rzeplinski and Joanne Schopp, both of Mahanoy City; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Mon- day at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church. Friends may call from 9 a.m. at Louis Truskowsky Funeral Home Inc., Mahanoy City.
