Mrs. Alice Zukas, 86, of 33 Hamilton Drive, Barnesville, passed away Thursday evening at her residence.
Born in Mahanoy City, June 17, 1922, she was a daughter of the late John and Ursula Masis Moss.
She was a 1940 graduate of Mahanoy City High School.
She was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City, and an honorary member of the Golden Age. She loved to bowl and play bingo.
She was the widow of George Zukas, who died in 1992. She was also preceded in death by a son, George Zukas Jr. on Aug. 8; a brother, George Moss; and a sister, Nellie Urbanavage.
Surviving are a daughter, Diane Donahue, Barnesville; a son, John Zukas, Barnesville; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church, Mahanoy City, for both Alice and her son, George Jr. Funeral will take place at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home Inc., Mahanoy City. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Donations may be made to the charity of donor's choice. Alice and her son, George Jr., will be buried in St. Joseph Cemetery, Mahanoy City, where two white doves will be released in their memory.
