Alex Mahmod "Pop Pop", 80, of Mahanoy City, PA, passed away Saturday, December 31st, at Lehigh Valley South Jackson, Pottsville.

Alex was born in Mahanoy City, PA on July 20, 1936, a son of the late Violet (Fohner) and Alex Mahmod.

He worked as a Mechanic for Schuylkill Transportation System and retired from the former United Cerebral Palsy Pottsville.

He was husband of the late Grace  (Bertzel) Mahmod.

Alex is  survived by five daughters, Cynthia Zienkeiwicz, of Ringtown; Brenda Puidokas, of Mahanoy City; Bernadett Whalen, of Mahanoy City; Tracey Mahmod, of Mahanoy City; Rose Mahmod, of Mahanoy City. two sons Mark, of Mahanoy City; Allan, of Mahanoy City; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Alex is also survived by brothers Joe and John, of Shenandoah, sisters Alberta and Linda of Shenandoah, Debra of Mahanoy City and Theresa and Ruth of Texas.

He is preceded in death by brothers Howard and Raymond and a sister Violet. Also by Grandsons Corey, and Stephen and a great Grandson Damien.

A Religious Service will take place at the Funeral Home in Mahanoy City, PA, at 11 AM on Thursday, January 5th.

Friends may call Wednesday January 4 ^th , from 6 to 8 PM and Thursday 9 to 11 AM at the Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Mahanoy City.

Interment will follow in Skyview Memorial Park Hometown.
