Obituary

It is with heavy and broken hearts that we announce the departure of Albert Joseph Stines Jr. from this earth and onto his next journey on Friday, May 9th, 2025.

Al was born on November 20th, 1953 and was the only child of Albert & Anna ( Hollenbach ) Stines.

Al was such a fighter & so badly wanted to beat the pancreatic cancer that he was diagnosed with in February 2024. With all the ups & downs ( mostly downs ), Al never once said " I can't fight this fight anymore". He fought with every ounce of strength he had to stay here on this earth with us, but someone, somewhere had other plans for him. He passed at home from this life surrounded by his close & loving family and friends.

Al was the loving husband of Anne Komosinsky Stines of Turkey Run  (Shenandoah). Al & Anne were very young when they started dating on February 5, 1973. They got married on August 13, 1977, and were still together & very much in love up until Al's very last breath.

In addition to his wife Anne, Al is survived by their only child, Pamela A. Stines of Ringtown & her fiancé Edward Shafransky of Shenandoah, a sister ( in law ) Louise Heckard of Shenandoah, several aunts, uncles, cousins,  nephews & a niece. Very important also to Al was his four-legged Siberian Husky Jax. Jax brought such joy & love to the entire family.

There was also one more very important person in Al's life. From around the age of 5 years old these 2 little boys became best friends for a lifetime. Al & that little boy way back then were still best friends after all of these years. That little boy & now a remarkable man is Thomas "Murph" Murphy. Thank you for being Al's best friend Murph.

Al was a graduate of Shenandoah Valley High School. He worked at Purlator for 10 years & Wenco/JeldWen for over 30 years. He enjoyed being outside whether he was planting flowers & vegetables, cutting grass or swimming.

Al was very passionate about his self-taught love for singing & playing his acoustic guitar. There were many nights that Al could be heard pouring out his heart in our back yard, the Shenandoah Heights Fire Company, sitting around a campfire with friends at Stony Fork Creek Campgrounds in Tioga County. They both called this campground a magical place to be.
