Obituary

Adam Dainauski, 90, of 87 S. Catawissa St., Mahanoy City, died Thursday (5/22/2008) afternoon at the home of his daughter, Jane.

Born in Shenandoah, Dec. 24, 1917, he was a son of the late Anthony and Mary Lugauskas Dainauski.

He lived in Mahanoy City most of his life. He was a 1935 graduate of Gilberton High School.

Adam was an electrician by trade and worked for many years at Bethlehem Steel.

He served in the Army during World War II as a Master Sergeant in Panama and the European Theater, where he was an airplane mechanic.

He was a member of St. Casimir Roman Catholic Church, Mahanoy City. Adam was devoted to his Church and his family.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Frank, Joseph and Albert Zilaitis. Surviving are his wife, the former Antoinette Gresh; sons, Michael Dainauski, Plano, Texas, and Robert Dainauski, Allentown; daughters, Carol Houser, Hazleton, and Jane Wufsus Reese, Eagle Rock, Hazleton; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services where held  Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home, Mahanoy City. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Casimir Church. Interment is in St. Casimir Cemetery, Mahanoy City,.
